It's Confidence for Me!
Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

I am grateful to be a part of the creative circle that loves God and can bring a word. In one of our monthly meetings, Maketlyn, Founder and CEO of House of Closet Confidence (last one on the left), taught our group about confidence. So many things resonated with me during her presentation, and I wanted to share a few of my takeaways with you, my readers.
I've shared many times how I STRUGGLE with imposter syndrome. However, we are overcoming this in Jesus' name! As I listened to Maketlyn, it hit me that part of my struggle was my lack of confidence. I lacked confidence in the One who made me. 1 Timothy 4:4 says that everything that God created is good. There is only one of me, and God said I was good! And because God made me good, I deserve every gift and talent I possess. My therapist asked me why I struggled with my confidence. I pinpointed it to my wanting more parental support and affirmations when I was younger. Also, the media's portrayal of Black women. All of this played a role in my self-confidence.
Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born I set you apart...
Our assignment from Maketlyn was to write a note to God or our confident selves. Here's what I wrote below:
God, I thank you that my confidence is seen with joy. Semline, you are that girl. There is something about you walking with God that increases your essence and your being. Remember what He calls you. He calls you a daughter of the King. You are an heir to the throne. The earth is yours and its fullness thereof. God will surely help you conquer anything you set your mind to. Never forget Jeremiah 29:11. Walk in confidence that He got your back, babe! Xoxo
